Me and friend used to play at Danny cuniff park, it gets cold and some time rains. We found Slate pickleball club, indoor and very neat settings, and free coffee😅 Continue to burn calories and having fun! We went to Slate for the first time and were expecting it to be an upscale experience like they advertise and it was anything but that! The space was so small and almost felt chlostrophobic. The courts were right up against one another with very little room to even walk. The lights were horrible and we kept losing the ball. We won’t be coming back.

Just joined after the first evaluation. Brand new facility with a lot of natural light. Every player is ranked in their internal system and offered lessons specific to their level..They nailed my first evaluation and offered a progression plan in the first hour. Very unique experiences that you do not find at large gyms "offering ickleball amenities" nor smaller pickleball venues trying to attract a pool of good players.

I have known Sam for 15 years and been watching his teaching career develop for almost a dozen. Sam has taught all skill levels and age groups at clubs in both Cincinnati and Chicago, and is constantly seeking novel -- and proven -- education methods for both tennis and pickleball as it's grown in popularity. I've even picked up a few things from him remotely, and have seen him in action several times when visiting in Chicago. His style is positive and encouraging while still providing a challenge through experiential learning. I've been so excited to watch his vision for Slate develop over the last few years, and to see it finally come to fruition! Looking forward to hearing about how the club's classes are progressing and hoping to take a few when I'm in town again soon.
