Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Management – Members Are Treated With Disrespect I have never experienced such consistently unprofessional and dishonest behavior from a sports facility. Our group has been playing pickleball at High Point Tennis & Pickleball in Plano for a long time, and the situation has only gotten worse. The core problem is not the facility—it’s the front desk staff and management, who seem more interested in going home early than honoring their own policies or respecting paying members. The facility advertises that it is open until 10:00 PM, yet whenever there are only one or two court reservations late in the evening, the staff suddenly invents rules to force players out early. We’ve been told, “We don’t allow just one reservation until 10,” even when the court was properly reserved until that time. This rule does not exist anywhere on their website or in written policy—it’s simply made up on the spot for convenience. Even worse, the club promotes “unlimited play” for members who pay a full annual fee. However, recently the staff has begun enforcing a 90-minute limit per day, kicking members off the court mid-reservation. I’ve personally witnessed front desk employees walking onto courts to remove players after 90 minutes, without being able to explain why this directly contradicts what the website clearly states. If you advertise unlimited play and then arbitrarily enforce time limits, that is misleading at best and dishonest at worst. Weather is used as another excuse. On multiple occasions, after just a few drops of rain—and once the rain had already stopped—the staff immediately shut down the facility and forced everyone to leave “for safety reasons.” This felt less like genuine concern and more like an excuse to close early and avoid staying until the posted closing time. No consistent standards, no transparency—just abrupt shutdowns. The overall attitude is hostile and dismissive. Instead of supporting members, the staff often appears antagonistic, impatient, and unwilling to explain policies because there is no consistent policy. This creates a chaotic and frustrating environment where members never know whether their paid reservations will be honored. High Point charges premium prices but delivers unreliable service, shifting rules, and disrespectful treatment. Management urgently needs to step in, retrain staff, and enforce clear, written, consistently applied policies. Until that happens, I cannot recommend this place to anyone who values professionalism, transparency, or basic respect for paying members.

I’ve been a member of this club for a while, and while the facilities are generally nice, it’s becoming increasingly frustrating to use them. There are plenty of tennis courts that often sit empty, but only 8 pickleball courts — and they’re almost always full. Lately, it’s been very difficult to reserve a pickleball court online because the club schedules so many paid classes and events in the evenings. As a paying member, I expect to have reasonable access to the courts, but it feels like members are being pushed aside in favor of revenue-generating programs. It’s disappointing to pay for a membership and still struggle to find an open time to play. I really hope the club reconsiders its scheduling and adds more pickleball courts or gives members better access.

Great facility and people, but website for bookings is horrendous and in serious need of redesign. 1. To reserve a court you need to individually click on each individual court's page which very cumbersome, as opposed to one page where you can see all court availability. Instead you have to click back and forth on the website for each court the facility has (like 20 courts). 2. Booking classes on the website is a nightmare. Basically one long dump of every single individual class in the year with no easy navigation to particular days. All the classes in the year that have already passed are also in the list for some reason, so basically you have to scroll through and wade through a sea of irrelevant classes that have already passed to find classes that are actually available.

This place sucks. The only way to attend a tennis drill is to register online with the parks and rec site. The way to register for drills is not user-friendly at all. Then there's always errors if you try to register. Get it together, or figure out a way to make drop ins happen again.

Disheartening Experience at High Point: A Tale of Misjudgment and Unjust Treatment My recent visit to the pickleball facility was marred by an unfortunate and deeply troubling incident, leaving me no choice but to share my disappointing experience. This review aims to shed light on the facility's apparent racist behavior and their inconsistent enforcement of rules, which ultimately tarnished what should have been a fun and enjoyable evening. Upon arriving at the facility with my friends, we were excited to play some pickleball and relish the camaraderie. However, the atmosphere quickly turned sour when we received a phone call the next morning, chastising us for allegedly creating a "party-like atmosphere" and having more than four people per court. The fact that we were singled out for this treatment, solely because we were all of Asian descent, is deeply distressing and disheartening. The incident escalated when we attempted to discuss the matter with the employee who made the call. It was evident that they assumed we were all together simply because of our shared ethnicity. This blatant stereotyping is wholly unacceptable and has no place in any establishment, especially one meant to promote sportsmanship and inclusivity. Additionally, their claim that the benches provided are not for sitting further highlights their arbitrary enforcement of rules and lack of basic hospitality. Adding insult to injury, we later discovered that their employee was misinformed about the court occupancy rules. The supervisor, when approached about this matter, confirmed that we were allowed to have up to six players per court, contradicting the employee's earlier statement. This inconsistency raises questions about the facility's competence in training its staff and leaves one wondering if there are other unfair practices they employ against their patrons. Regrettably, this was not the first incident of unwarranted accusations and mistreatment we experienced at the pickleball facility. In the past, we had been unjustly accused of not paying despite following all payment procedures diligently. This ongoing pattern of discrimination and harassment has effectively driven us away from the facility multiple times. I implore the management of High Point to take immediate and serious action against racial discrimination within their establishment. It is crucial that they educate their staff about diversity, inclusivity, and cultural sensitivity to ensure such incidents never happen again. Furthermore, a thorough review and overhaul of their customer service and rule enforcement policies are urgently needed to prevent future mistreatment of patrons. In conclusion, my experience at the facility was one filled with dismay and disillusionment. The racist behavior we encountered, combined with their inconsistent rules and harassment, has left a lasting negative impression. I hope that my review serves as a wake-up call for the facility to address these issues promptly and create a genuinely welcoming and fair environment for all players.
