I was an invited guest today at The Picklr. Fantastic place. Great pro shop with demo paddles, grab and go drinks/snacks, friendly staff, beautiful courts (all filled), black walls with helps seeing the ball, seated areas where you can watch play, and incredibly clean! The location is super - right off th 101 and Indian Bend. I hear it's so popular that you need to reserve a week in advance. Will definitely be going back!
Joining the Scottsdale Picklr is one of the best decisions I have made this year. It is a lovely facility and has been kept cool during these summer months. They have great attentive staff, provide great clinics and open play and other programs such as Round Robin and Queen of the court. They have great pro coaches, and I have always felt like their approach is for everyone to have a great experience. I have taken multiple clinics with Spencer and they are focused, fun and individual feedback is given in a very positive manner!! Love the Picklr!!😍
Last minute I booked a slot for 30 people to come! The employees were kind, prompt, and communicative. When we got there, everything was ready for us, and we had the best time! The instructor was so helpful too. We really enjoyed how easy and smooth the process was, as well as the great price. We would come here again!
I LOVE the Picklr Scottsdale! They keep it 67 degrees which is FABULOUS in the AZ summer! EVERY SINGLE COURT IS A GOOD COURT! That means there is enough space beyond baselines and sidelines. There is another indoor place in Chandler that feels like a terrarium bc they keep it a balmy 74 degrees and out of 15 courts only 4 have proper spacing beyond the baselines and sidelines. THANK YOU Picklr Scottsdale for making all courts great courts and keeping it cool inside! Once you get warmed up, you’ll be so grateful they keep it so nice inside! Spencer also deserves a huge shout out! I took a “live ball” clinic today and he is excellent! Thank you Spencer!
I joined last winter and took advantage of their black Friday annual membership pricing. I liked that they had plenty of player development clinics and beginner social open play for new players. They advertised that their pricing was all-inclusive with no added fees for clinics, open play or reservations. It’s hard starting out in pickleball when everyone else is so much better so it’s important that beginners have a lane to improve. Within a couple of months, almost all of the clinics had been removed. Beginner open play was removed. Open play is now a free-for-all with players moving paddles. Cliques have formed and even though you’re next up, you’ll get thrown out of rotation. Beginners might seem like a pain to cater but without a constant flow of new players (members), a business will grow stagnant. Last year when the picklr opened, it had few indoor venue competitors. Now there’s lots of places from which to choose. Since the player development programming is the reason that I first joined is effectively gone now, I won’t return after my membership expires. They pulled the rug out once. I won’t fall for it again.
