The Hawk - Farmington Hills Community Center

This facility is really nice. They have multiple gyms, fitness center, pool with lazy river and kids play area and whole lot more. My most favorite area is the “Maker’s space”. You have to get a subscription to use this area which is different from the center subscription and it is a bit expensive but if you use all the available tools and services it might worth more than what you pay for. My only disappointment is how expensive both the center and maker’s space is. I wish Farmington hills residents received a more subsidized rates hence

I am giving this a low rating solely based on the interaction I experienced with the gentleman at the front desk on 11/15/25. His demeanor was extremely off-putting and noticeably rude to every person he interacted with. I arrived with my children for open gym, but there was a sign stating that day passes were sold out and only memberships were being accepted. When I inquired about signing up for a membership, he offered no information and responded rudely, saying, “You would’ve had to buy it yesterday to use it.” Despite that, I still intended to sign up for a membership for future use. However, while filling out the application, I witnessed him speaking disrespectfully to another guest. At that point, I chose to leave. My children even noticed him roll his eyes, as if he couldn’t care less that we were walking out. Several other guests also left due to his attitude. For the sake of your business, I strongly recommend placing someone else at the front desk, as his behavior is actively driving customers away.

Best place for kids to learn to swim! Parents can watch poolside or through the looking glass window. Affordable, and they offer convenient Sunday sessions.

Of course, I am giving The Hawk 5 stars. The event was honoring me as the 2024-2025 Farmington/Farmington Hills Artist Residence Award Winner and my photos are from The Hawk. It was set up beautifully and the staff and city did a wonderful presentation and everything was perfect! I feel so honored!

Nice shallow pool, not too cold. Bummed there isn't a hot tub but the lazy river, splash zone, and water slide are fun! Also an amazing art lesson area and maker space where you can learn 3D printing, embroidery, glow forge/laser etching and more! You have to take a class on each machine to help ensure you won't break it but after that you can come in anytime to work on your own projects. It's great for crafters/small businesses not ready to invest in an industrial machine or without the space at home. Also a nice workout center but I am not athletically inclined :p
