Beautiful venue, but the experience was extremely disappointing. I hosted my daughter’s quinceañera here, and unfortunately the staff made the event far more stressful than it needed to be. They were rude, unaccommodating, and repeatedly interrupted us throughout the night to remind us about wrapping up even though there was no event scheduled after ours. It felt like they were rushing us out the entire time. Initially, we booked the venue when talking to the coordinator that we would be allowed to have our service dog there. The staff was questioning why our service dog was at the party and we have had that conversation already & the coordinator said it would be okay. On top of that, the projector screen was positioned in a way that blocked the stage, and we were told we’d have to pay extra to use the stage even though the issue was due to their equipment being broken before our event. It was unreasonable and frustrating. Overall, the constant interruptions and lack of professionalism from the staff overshadowed what should have been a special celebration. The venue may be beautiful, but the service completely ruined the experience.

Looks like a great play place for a rainy day. The rule that parents cannot go in during “child play” hours is ridiculous. They need to change the policy so that the indoor playground can be used with parents or caregivers present. If I want to watch my child play for 1 hour I can’t do that at their “family hours” because it’s during nap time. Also, a lot of homeless sleeping in cars in the parking lot.

The green area and splash pad at STAR Center are absolutely perfect for a fun, laid-back day outdoors! The lawn is wide, clean, and great for picnics, tossing a frisbee, or just relaxing in the sun. There are plenty of shady spots and benches for when you want to take a break. The water area (sprayground) is a big hit with the kids—it has lots of fun fountains and jets, and it’s open during the warmer months. It’s especially nice on hot days, and the setup makes it easy for parents to keep an eye on the little ones. There are bathrooms, water fountains, and plenty of parking, which makes the whole experience super convenient. If you have kids or just want a peaceful spot to enjoy some green space, this is a great place to visit!

One of the best play areas for kids in Tacoma! They have a great playground with climbing equipment, huge slides, swings, a spray area for warm days, benches, restrooms. Plus for a fee, there is an indoor play area for raining days, we spend hours here!
