Splat Zone Indoor Paintball and Pickleball

My son and a few of his friends went for his birthday and it was awesome. Staff was friendly, prices are great. Everyone enjoyed themsleves to the fullest. We did the indoor paintball experience and my 10 was not hurt or in any pain. He wants to go back...

We had our 13 year old son’s birthday party here today and it was okay, but definitely not great, considering the nearly $900 price tag for a party of 10 kids (which included paintball, a party room, 4 pizzas, 20 bottles of water and the requested 20% tip at the end.) The party was two hours and I would say the kids got just under one hour of paintball play time in total. There was a LOT of time spent waiting to play, while day pass people took up the play areas. They have one indoor and two outdoor areas for paintball and one of the outdoor ones wasn’t being used the entire time we were there - not sure why, leaving only two paintball playing spaces to accommodate everyone. So, yes they offer unlimited paintballs for the price, but you won’t get enough play time to use very many. Having spent $50 per kid, plus the rental of the party room for unlimited paint ball for 2 hours, I would have thought they would have kept one area for the party to play in the whole time, but instead, our boys had to wait in line to play, just like everyone else there. I asked a staff person if there were any other birthday parties booked today and she said no - that we were the only one all day! So, why the long waits? She said it was because we happened to be there during a busy time. But, unfortunately, you can’t know that when you plan a birthday party weeks out, so I’m not sure how to mitigate that. Standing in line at your own birthday party to get to play just isn’t very fun for a 13 year old boy and as the parent who planned it, I was rather embarrassed. The facility was relatively clean. The party room, however, was very clean and nice and had a viewing window into the indoor paintball space, which was nice. The party host helper girl was nice, but didn’t do much. The refs in the paintball areas were great and made it super fun for the boys. I hope they get most of the tip! The boys really liked them. They do have two free foozeball tables and two free video games, which is definitely nice, but those were often in use by people with day passes waiting to play, so it was hard to work in. Plus, our boys had to wait in line to keep their spots to play paintball, so the games couldn’t entertain them during the waiting time, sadly. I wanted so much to love this place and host more parties here for our other boys, but I just can’t say the value is great for the amount of play time vs waiting. When I look on their website, they’re running a special - two all-day passes for $50. So, apparently, the people who were playing while our birthday party kids had to wait paid less than half as much as I did per person. That’s insanely frustrating. All in all, this place could be an amazing place for birthday parties if they operated it differently, but they seem to be in business more for the day pass players, so just be aware that your party kids aren’t the priority at all.

I took my team here for our annual team bonding event and we had a great time. Our party had designated hosts and they took care of us, making sure we got in as many games as possible of both paintball and jelly ball. It was also nice to be indoors in the AC playing so I’m glad Houston has an indoor option. It was well kept, bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly. Thank you for having us!

Update: we had a gellyball birthday party and it was so much fun! The staff were very friendly and patient with the kids, from orientation to gear to actual game play. Our vip room was clean and had plenty of space for food, seating, and cake table. The action camera was unique, and showed first hand view of the gellyball games. The staff took care of everything and kept the party on schedule. Our guests had a great time, thank you Splat for making this a fun event! ‐‐------- My family and friends had a great time on the indoor pickleball courts. Booking was a breeze online. Rackets are available for rental or bring your own. We enjoyed the professional and courteous service from the Splat staff, very clean facilities, and a concession area with nice hydration options. They also have paintball and gellyball, and private rooms for parties. I highly recommend Splat for your recreational needs!

Great place to play paintball. Brought my church here for an event and the owner came by personally to assist in our large group. The workers were mostly friendly despite being completely swamped with so many groups aside from mine already being there. The indoor setup is completely modular and can be moved and designed for any size group you bring. Overall a great Friday night activity! Recommendation if not with a group: call ahead and ask how many people are currently playing what so you can know if being a walk-on is viable for you if it’s just you and a couple other friends. Confession: my team practices here so I’m very familiar with the facility and the practices of the indoor and outdoor field.
