I am now 55 years old. I went here when I was a kid. My three girls went there and now my grandkid goes there. I have had nothing but good experiences. What a wonderful place for the children to go

For anyone trying to sign up for pottery, avoid Linda's classes. She is entitled and elitist. Spots in pottery classes rarely open up for non-repeat students. Current students have a full month to sign up before they open the class for public enrollment. I was able to find an opening at Roberts after months of waiting. When I arrived for the first class, I was met with standoffish, rude energy from Linda. She told me she wasn't expecting any new students and told me to show her my receipt. I did. She begrudgingly looked and found my name on her class list. Then, she proceeded to go name by name down the list so she could find out "whose spot I had taken," as if I had knowingly done something other than enroll in a public class. She then began to lecture me, saying that I had only gotten into the class "by a fluke" and "should have never been allowed to enroll without her permission or permission from the class." All of this being done loudly in front of a room of people who sat by and watched. She then insinuated that the right thing for me to do would be to give my spot to the individual whose "spot I had unfairly taken." Even though this was clearly BS, I gladly offered to give up my spot and requested a refund, as the last thing I wanted at that point was to be part of her hostile group. She then condescendingly offered me a space on a wait list, which I declined. When I went downstairs to request a refund from the front desk manager, Linda watched me from the railing, yelling down to the front desk manager that she (Linda) did nothing wrong, and that I was giving up my spot "by my own free will." Unprofessional and unhinged. The front desk manager told her what she did wasn't right and asked her to return to her classroom. Thankful for him. My understanding is that the Rec Center is a space for public enrichment, not an exclusive, private art studio. I booked an open spot online and paid for the class, but was met with this unkind and, honestly, bizarre behavior from Linda. Anyone looking to break into a pottery class, I recommend you look elsewhere. They run an exclusive and unwelcoming ship here. Bad vibes 🚫

Comfortable area to watch your kiddos practice and play their sports games in a nice neighborhood. Staff are nice as well :)
