Ringhaver has something for everyone from playgrounds to pickleball it's close to family filled neighborhoods so loads of kids to socialize your little one with. Fenced in helps with those runners, tall towers to climb for exhausting energy, or quiet swings for the mellow kid. Love nature? The trails are beautiful and lead to the Ortega riverside to see the importance of our local water ways. Careful you may see some of our signature wild life enjoying this preserved habitat.
Reaching the softball 🥎 fields was a bit of a challenge as when you enter the park there are no signs that tell you to continue past the Soccer fields. Parking is all grass with a main entrance to the fields but no sign that tells you that there is other side entrances. Rest rooms are terrible dirty and only use if your life depends on it. Field maintenance is spotty between games. Food is available but a crushed ice cup for $6? Seems like lately all parks are hiking food prices as $4 for a hotdog again is a bit high. No scoreboards are working so you need to keep your own. Umpires do a good job but saw some calls that make you question if they know the rule book or make it up as they go along. Other than that glad the 14u players enjoyed their time.
There's a lot to do here. Massive open soccer field area at the front with bathrooms, a small playground and a concession when there are league games. Drive to the back and there is a big playground space with the biggest slide I've ever seen at a public park. Saw a kid go down t and it disnt seem dangerous at all. Further to the back is a hiking trail. Bikes are allowed but mountain bikers would have 0 interest in it and can be ridden by a beach cruiser. There is a dock where you can launch a kayak but its exactly 1/2 a mile from the parking lot. I did a full lap and walked all the way to the water and it was 1.75 miles back to the parking spaces. I didn't do the trail way in the back that branches off but the trails are short and flat. Its Florida after all. But this is a very nice space for a walk. There are also 4 softball fields in the back area. The fields are in very good shape right now but were closed when I went as these are only open with reservation.
Upon entering Ringhaver Playground Play Park, visitors will notice its fenced-in perimeter and a sturdy gate leading to a concrete parking lot. While the park offers restroom facilities, unfortunately, during our visit, they were padlocked and emitted a noticeable odor. The park features a covered shelter and an enclosed slide structure immediately catching the eye. Within the park, there are inclusive features such as autistic-friendly musical instruments, various swings including options for handicapped individuals, a teeter-totter, rope swing, and a merry-go-round. Separate play areas cater to children aged 2 to 5 and 5 to 12, also equipped with a covered shelter and several picnic tables. The rubberized play area eliminates the hassle of dealing with mulch and provides ample space for children to play. Despite its many amenities, the park's only drawback is the closure of restroom facilities for several weeks, with only port-a-potties available. Overall, Ringhaver Playground Play Park offers a well-equipped and spacious environment for families to enjoy, with potential for improvement in restroom maintenance.
