Pleasant Ridge Community Center

Saddened by the treatment of guests and bereaved family members at my best friend’s celebration of life by a screaming employee in bare feet. Before, during, and after the event—face to face and on a PA during the ceremony. Absolutely unacceptable. Please address this PRCC, really expected better having been a community member since childhood. Do better please.

Attended a memorial service on May 31 and was shocked by the behavior of a barefoot staff member who came in screaming at family and guests about a parked car that needed to be moved. She got in multiple women’s faces, yelling aggressively during a time of mourning.(Wasn’t even their car.)Completely unprofessional and deeply disrespectful to the grieving family. This is not how any facility should treat people honoring a loved one.

One of the blessings of living in our small city is a great community center and city pool. Great staff and programs for our citizens. We had a fun event on October 3rd, a sound bath and time afterwards with miniature highland cattle and black faced sheep. Our recreation department has great events 👍

I attended a memorial service on Saturday, May 31st, to honor and celebrate the life of a friend who recently passed away from cancer. What was supposed to be a peaceful and respectful gathering was completely disrupted by an unbelievably rude and unprofessional staff member. This woman barged into the hall barefoot, yelling at a group of women at one of the tables about a vehicle that was apparently parked incorrectly. These ladies were calm and respectful, trying to explain they didn’t know whose car it was but were more than willing to help her figure it out. Despite their efforts and repeated requests for her to calm down, she continued to scream in their faces, shouting that she “worked there” and that the car needed to be moved right now. Her behavior was absolutely appalling and beyond inappropriate, especially at a memorial. This was not only disruptive, but incredibly disrespectful to a grieving family trying to remember their loved one. I was shocked and deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism and basic human decency shown in that moment.

I am very disappointed. Before COVID I had rented this facility several times, (I even have pictures proving this, which I showed to management) because of that, I didn’t hesitate to recommend the community center for someone coming from out of state to have a baby shower . We paid in full for the rental and then was told after payment that the facility is for residents only. I called and “begged” for an exception, we have a time crunch, hotel reservations have been made with this date in mind. I was told to come pick up our money and suggested to try another community center . Wow, this makes one wonder if it’s just the WALL that separates us. 😏
