Update: I canceled my membership and will not be returning to this club until they've changed management. Classic bait & switch. I really loved PR, but now they've decided to completely change their business model and couldn't care less about their members. Every night they schedule a league, or tournament, or moneyball to bring in cash. There's never adequate open play courts. Tomorrow night, there's only one single open play court available for PR's 300+ members. I guess our money isn't good enough. I'm not going to pay monthly for open play access when they continue to reduce the number of available courts every week. I guess they want us to go to The Hub so they can get a couple hundred bucks a night for "private events" or another "dinking with Jared" money grab. Poor management, in my humble opinion. I hope they're ready for the mass exodus about to happen. I joined Pickle Rage pre-opening and I've enjoyed playing there ever since. The courts are great, scheduling is relatively simple, and they have a great staff. I'm not sure what Kyle's role is with PR, but he's so knowledgeable about the game and always seems to be involved and helpful with all of the players. Mackenzie is amazing, and extremely attentive. Josh has always been friendly and helpful with billing and scheduling issues. My only complaint is that their leagues, special events, and too many reserved courts during peak hours ruin the open play games. Overall, it's the best place for indoor pickleball in the area.
Great facility ! Lots of courts and exciting games. 9 courts, 4/5 reserved for open play and others for booking / coaching etc. temperature controlled very well. Lighting is fantastic and courts have enough space and great perimeter fencing. It just opened so a bit crowded so we will need to see if it becomes easier getting a court and wait times. Finding the right balance between getting enough good games and shorter wait times will be tricky but hope they manage it. Friendly crowd for sure. Highly recommend checking it out !
Picklerage is a top-notch indoor pickleball facility in Jacksonville, featuring 9 well-maintained, pristine courts. I love that each court has a non-skid, joint-friendly cushioned surface, which is great for knee health and a perfect touch for older players. Another cool feature is the ability to record and save your games for later viewing. It's also a great spot to hang out and play with friends, offering a welcoming vibe for players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. The staff is approachable and eager to help, and the owner and management team are dedicated to ensuring a positive, accommodating experience for everyone. They genuinely listen to customer feedback with a friendly, helpful attitude. The owner reached out to address my concern and connected me with the General Manager, Donald, who was incredibly efficient and straightforward. In just a few minutes, the issue was resolved! Amazing customer service—thanks to the owner and GM Donald Wagner!
Dear PickleRage Management Team, As a loyal customer, I have always been excited to visit your facility, but recent events of one of the employees left me feeling that their staff needs comprehensive training on effective communication, time management, and prioritization while being respectful and courteous to customers. The issues I faced were multifaceted and involved inadequate staff training, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. On multiple occasions, I have encountered an employee who seems to prioritize his own games over ensuring a smooth experience for guests. This has resulted in lengthy wait times, inconsistent application of rules, and a general sense of disorganization. One particular incident stood out, where I was forced to wait for an extended period due to the an employee's failure to properly manage the check-in process. Despite my family and I following the correct procedures of checking in at the desk with an a staff member, we were incorrectly informed by the same employee that we were not checked in, leading to unnecessary delays and frustration. Recently, I arrived at the facility with my friends and 10-year-old son, and we were checked in by one of the employees at the front desk. However, when we were about to enter a game, he again approached us and asked if we had checked in, despite us having already done so. When I explained the situation, he became dismissive and told me that he didn't see our names in the system. What was even more concerning was that when I pointed out that the new trainee had checked us in, the employee in question told me to "ignore" the trainee, stating that they were new and didn't know what they were doing. As a customer, it's not our responsibility to know who is new or experienced among the staff, and it's unfair to penalize us for the mistakes of the staff. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also humiliating for the trainee, and it created a negative experience for us. I would like to highlight that this is not the first time I have experienced this issue. I have also noticed that the staff often plays games during their shift, while others are waiting to play. This lack of prioritization and time management is unacceptable. On the day of the incident, I witnessed the employee playing games (which I’m sure a lot of people may have noticed him playing in the past in the middle of his shifts when other members are waiting in queue who paid to be there) on court 6 while we were waiting to play on court 5, which was reserved for beginners from 6-8 pm. However, when we arrived, the court was not properly reserved, and the employee was too busy playing his own game. When I asked him about the availability of the court, he told me that we would have to wait until 9 pm, but then later informed us that we could play after 30 minutes, stating that two people had left. However, I did not see anyone leave, and I believe that this was an excuse to prioritize his own game. Moreover, the employee (from pictures below) informed me that it's at the discretion of the management to make amends to the reservations made by guests/members. He also stated that "in all other places, customers are right, but this place doesn't work that way." This statement is alarming and raises serious concerns about the customer-centric approach of your facility. What's even more concerning is that at 7:50 pm, while I was in the middle of a game, the employee approached me and interrupted the game to inform me that we had to leave and that it was my last game of the day. This was unprofessional and disruptive. It appears that the employee is stealing games from members and penalizing them to benefit himself. It's the responsibility of the management to ensure that the staff is providing excellent customer service. Attached is a clip of an employee playing games during his shift while others were waiting, as well as a photo of him sitting in the front with his shoes on the desk, which reflects poorly on the professionalism of the staff.
Great indoor place to escape inclement outdoor weather. I like the pay as you go option instead of having to pay a mandatory membership fee. Restroom facilities are clean and well maintained. The noise level is high and may take some time to acclimate your ears. Demo paddles are available for use.
