Pickleball Court

This is a very nice facility but if you’re looking to play a nice, casual game with your family that’s just learning to play I’d advise going elsewhere. It was pretty stressful for us as beginners. I’m guessing that if you’re a diehard pickleball fan that knows what you’re doing this place would be heaven.

Love this park! It is managed by the Grand Rapids Pickleball Club. This club requires a membership but the price is almost a donation because they do a lot of cool stuff and maintain it is sharp conditions! They do well- organized ladder leagues and tournament events and all of them are awesome! They even have a ladder league for kids! The only thing my friends and I wish is that they would have a separate tournament for kids younger than 13. Kids of all ages, most of them under 11, are allowed to play against adults on events, as long as they pay the price of the registration. The leader of the club allows it because he says the kids are good and can take it (his kid plays there too) but you hear players feeling they can’t play aggressively because they feel bad for the kids and because their parents are present, watching you hit their children 🤣. Some parents were giving adult players nasty looks 🤯 because players would forget they were playing against children and would hit the ball hard at them. Kids are also allowed to play against adults on the ladder league. If this makes you happy or you don’t mind, come play! If it bothers you, MVP is more expensive but they have age restrictions for tournaments and ladder leagues.

Went as a spectator for the Beer City Pickleball tournament. Super clean and well maintained. There were places to sit in the shade to help with the heat and still see the courts.

For a park paid for with public funds (aka taxpayer dollars) it’s always busy. Today, a tournament. Annoying. Everything fenced off, sponsor tents, etc…..🙄🙄🙄. Just wanted to play a game of pickleball with our family. It’s literally 10pm. I think I just saw my brain I rolled my eyes so far back.

Great Venue for pickleball lovers! Courts are clean and well maintained.
