Field needs TLC ! Could be in way better shape. When trying to get a permit I was harassed and threatened my Thomas the park head i charge.
This is a place is so thoroughly hidden "in the cut" that only people "who know" will find it. It has a large field to play soccer or baseball. The gym is VERY OLD & OUTDATED. Wooden bleachers on one side of gym, no A/C, the restrooms are outside in back of the building, no water fountains inside or outside, It has a tiny playground for kids that you could probably fit in your own backyard but it does have sprinklers they can play in when it's hot outside. The grounds itself are huge. This is one place the city really should remodel & reconstruct it could be beautiful.
Equipment could use some maintenance but nice assortment of structures for a range of ages. Splash pad is very basic but a nice addition in the summer months. Be aware that bathrooms and water fountains are only accessible during "business hours". Closed in areas (tennis courts in rough shape) offer an option for letting dogs off leash in enclosed areas. Fields are well kept for soccer and baseball, also tend to be a nice area to meet up with friendly dogs. There is also a batting cage. Some sports programs offered throughout the year but go in person during business hours to get information as you can't get through on the phone easily (if at all).
great park for the kids even has a sprinkler system for the kids to play in when its hot. clean great family atmosphere. i can trust my kids to run around and play without being subjected to profanity or lewd acts. highly recommend for families with smaller children
Love this park, but my baby loves it even more. Especially the fountain area. Would be grateful if the pavement there could get scrubbed, so it's less slippery.
