Had a great time watching an NJAC playoff game at the JMAC. I think the fans are starting to sense that this year's team (2018-2019) could put together a nice post-season run. Earlier this year they only opened one side of the gym and the experience was much worse. Hopefully my attached photo wil come out and you can see what I mean. Notice that most of the sections are crowded except the center one. The best seats were reserved for the cheer squad. They stand up in those seats and do their dance routines. Most schools will use those seats for people who want to watch the game and have their cheer squads perform on the baseline. Today I could watch the game unobstructed from a good seat & ignore the cheer squad. The fans did a really good job of bringing the energy to the playoff game.
Njcu's student athletic center. Community membership $500, senior (62+) $275-. What I'd expect at a school with a long reputation of athletic competence, if not excellence. Not as good as Florida State, but better than anything commercial. If I lived in the neighborhood I'd take it over anything commercial, including the retro I go to in Bayonne. Winter location for the Bayonne club swim team. Several aspiring national level swimmers, and really excellent coaches at all levels. I have my son (10yo) there for swimming, (although the pool can't host competitions- no blocks or bleachers). David Schierholz
Great place to work out. It includes a weight room, track, pool, basketball courts, saunas, and a room for table tennis. General public membership is costly, but is more affordable for senior citizens, fire fighters, policemen, and EMTs.
Great place for students to exercise with friendly and reasonable staff. Must have gothic ID. You can bring outside friends by there is a fee. Overall, great environment.
