I have a few things to say about this place. Each swimming lasts for 1 hour, if you are late you can still enter, but ypu should pay for a full hour. Also, after 1 hour of swimming, you have to leave the pool and for 15 have to stay in the changing room (yes, it's cold and you feel uncomfortable). You can't pay for 2 hours of swimming at once, you should leave the pool and pay after every hour. Guards (teens) were really rude, and in my view, they whistled their whistles, just out of boredom, without any particular need. Lots of rules: you can't swim in a T-shirt, you can't dive, children under 16 aren't allowed in the hot tub... and what can you do?! I don't recommend it, I was extremely disappointed!
I took a hard fall as I didn't see a step before you get to the stairs for the slide. I landed on my left knee. The lifeguard was right there to check on me but when I went to the office to see if I could get some ice, none of the lifeguards could find any. They didn't take an accident report and only offered me a sterilized wipe and a Band-aid. I finally got a small bag of ice from the front desk. I sent an email and suggested the step have a red sign across the top and the lifeguards be better trained when someone gets hurt.
Taking my kid here for an hour a week isn't enough time to enjoy all the things they have to offer at Jim Pasley. It is a great place for the younger kids to safely play and get that energy out.
This is a nice little pool to visit in the Vancouver school district. I like that it is only 4-5 dollars per person, which is less than some of the other school district pools in Vancouver. You do have to pay that price for each swim session, so it adds up if you want to spend the day and not just an hour. Some of the features we enjoy are the slide and hot tub (16 years and older). This location also doesn't tend to get as crowded as some of the other pools in Vancouver. Jim parsley is connected to the Vancouver School District's office buildings. If you don't see the slide from the door you are entering you probably are at the wrong part of the building.
Hidden gem! Don't tell everyone, but fair price, one water slide. Pool is max about 3.6 feet but great for families with younger kids. Locker room is spacious with showers and 1 family locker. Many balls and life vests are available for use. Water temp good, not cold. Plenty of free parking, including large/longer vehicles. Climbing wall- nice bonus for additional fee.
