Hornets Nest is looking stunning this time of year! The disc golf course is getting all set up for the Pro Tour Match Play Championship!

Our family reunion on July 19th at Hornets Nest Park was truly a beautiful experience, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue! We were so glad to have secured one of the shelters, which proved to be perfect for our gathering. The park itself is gorgeous, offering a wonderful backdrop for our family to connect and celebrate. A special shout-out to the park ranger we encountered – she was incredibly friendly and helpful! Her assistance in allowing us to bring our things to the shelter made our setup so much easier and less stressful, which we truly appreciated. Her welcoming demeanor really added to the positive atmosphere of our day. Everything about our time at Hornets Nest Park was just beautiful. We had a fantastic reunion and would highly recommend this park, especially for anyone looking to host a family event. We're already looking forward to future gatherings there!

I had a shelter rental this past Saturday at Hornet's Nest Park, 6301 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC for a family reunion. It was noted that the park ranger was to meet us at the park at 10am to open the gate so that we could drive back to the shelter with the heavier items we couldn't walk back for set up. I was there at 9:55am. We waited and no one ever showed. We walked on foot to locate our Shelter #2 and found and un-housed man was living in our shelter and it strongly smelled of urine. After walking looking for the park ranger and looking for the right numbers to call it was going 10:40am. The emergency line then sent a ranger Keke Worthy and the park supervisor to aide us. We expire our concerns of the un-housed individual and foul urine smell. Ms. Worthy was very apologetic and went above and beyond to address our concerns when she learned what was going on. She really was wonderful in trying to assist. I greatly appreciate her. Thankfully shelter #4 was cancelled and open to we were able to start setting up about 11am. This was a terrible experience, from the ranger not meeting us at 10am, walking in not great weather(rain), the shelter being housed by an un-housed man, the foul smell of urine was unsanitary. The shelter was to be a place where we were due to host family, gather, and cook in was not what I expected as a paying customer that rented this shelter for my family reunion. The event was to start at noon. The lack of follow through on the agreed upon commitment of our contract isn't acceptable nor pleasing. I was so frustrated and disappointed. This threw my entire timeline off for my event. It is my hope that some compensation for this poor customer service/ experience will be provided to me. I took a survey and sent an email and haven't heard anything yet.

I like the lake with the fountain there. You can take a seat on a bench and enjoy the view. I saw a few ducks and goose. Also you can finish if you like it. There're few fields to play sports, playground for children and some places for BBQ. In general it's not a big park but it's peaceful.
