Safety is not a priority up in the Lehigh Valley. Softball fields are completely underwater and they’re still trying to push to play games. When I was running the leak several years ago, we prioritized safety over everything else, the new guard does not care about safety at all. Play at your own risk.
I’ve been playing in Heyday Leagues since 2018 and have had great experiences. The competition is good but more importantly, it’s been a good way to stay connected to friends and meet new people.
I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with the Heyday basketball league in the Lehigh Valley was poor. The communication for the league start date, games each week, and cancellations was late at best. We learned about game times the day before or day of the game. If the website was only updated on the day of the game, you didn't receive notifications about the game. We were supposed to receive a t-shirt for joining the league, but we did not receive one. In most games, we only had 3 or 4 people show up for each team, which meant that only a few games were played as 5v5 or had a sub. The courts at Grange Park are below average. They had double rims, and the baskets are not 10 ft high. I was looking forward to this league and thought it had potential, but it was disappointing and a waste of money and time. I would not recommend joining a Heyday league, even though I've heard better things for different sports and other regions.
One of the top sports leagues in the tri- state area. I’m always involved in either basketball or the intramural flag football league. It’s a organization where you are amongst the community and you’re bound to meet all walks of life whether it’s a different race or background. It’s a place where you can call it home and it’s nothing short of camaraderie & pleasant vibes!
The previous review regarding safety is unequivocally false. Heyday did what any league should do — which is everything they can to ensure their players can play the game they paid for. They have to navigate a wide range of personalities and do so admirably. Not to mention taking feedback when necessary and making changes to benefit everyone. The fields in question were draining well initially and once it was determined they wouldn’t, all games were cancelled. Heyday most certainly prioritizes safety and showed that tonight. I have no skin in the game, I am just a player; but the previous review sounds more like an individual unhappy they are no longer running the league than anything else. Thank you to the current heyday leadership in the Lehigh Valley for organizing these games and allowing us to enjoy a sport we love!
