Nice park for a sunset walk. It gets pretty sunny in the morning. Plenty of open grill and picnic bench. It is part of a longer coyote trail. Lot of parking spots. Nice views. Paid entrance & parking. Entrance and exit is through a road leading to highway, sometimes gets a ton traffic. Good for wildlife spotting like turkey, woodpecker, hawk, hogs, deer, coyote, fox, bob cat, turtle, duck

It’s a beautiful and well kept park. I rode my bike through here via Coyote Creek Trail. People enjoy this park every week. It has a good playground, lots of open field, picnic tables, restrooms, and a small lake to fish in. No sports equipment, like basketball courts, but you can play frisbee or soccer or set up a volleyball net. They also have an outdoor velodrome. I think this is one of the more relaxing parks in the South Bay.

Nice and challenging disc golf course, short but challenging. Great views.

Hellyer County Park was the perfect setting for our recent crew outing. We kicked things off with a relaxed lunch under shaded picnic tables near the lake, where ducks wandered by and the breeze kept things cool. The open layout made it easy to spread out, and the calm atmosphere gave us space to catch up without distractions. It’s one of those parks that feels tucked away but still accessible—ideal for lowkey gatherings. After lunch, a few of us hit the paved bike trails that loop around the lake and connect to the Coyote Creek Trail. The paths were smooth and well-maintained, perfect for casual riders and more seasoned cyclists alike. Later in the afternoon, we set up a casual football game on one of the open fields—not competitive, just enough movement to balance out the chill vibe. Between the velodrome energy nearby and the quiet lake views, Hellyer gave us a full day of variety without ever feeling crowded.

Easy to access everything. Parking was $6 unless you have a pass. (You can get from any library) Park had a LOT of goose droppings which made it difficult for the kids to play on it. Playgrounds were clean though and kept the kiddos occupied the entire time. They really loved the one feature that spins. The sand area with water is genius! Just wish it was warmer so the kids could've enjoyed it. Bathrooms were clean, just not stocked with toilet paper and seat covers. Made it challenging to say the least. But we figured it out and everyone had a great time. OH! and the park has place to hang a pinata which is fantastic! 🎉🎂
