Gene Friend Recreation Center

I'm disappointed in you San Francisco, This is an important rec center in the middle of downtown and presumably the only one for the tenderloin. Why haven't renovations made it here? Many families, seniors, and vulnerable residents rely on this center. It's a shame to see the billion dollar rec centers in other neighborhoods only to see this one run down and frankly that playground is dangerous, the wood is splintered badly. The restroom absolutely emaculate when it came to cleanliness.

Nirvana has been located. Beautiful basketball courts, newly waxed. Outddor BB courts, too. Small workout room. I will go in the mornings to Gene friend 3 times a week. See you there.

The gym equipment needs help but everything else is nice. It's good that it's free I think the gym equipment might all be donations. It's a cute little place where you can go and be active.

Enjoy the Court until December 20th 2023 where upon they should begin demolition and begin to build a much needed gym set for completion in approximately 3years. Think Betty Ann Ong center in Chinatown. Betty Ann died on 9 11. Flight 93 I believe as a flight attendant. God bless her soul and all the innocent who died that day. Amen.
