The YMCA on 249 is an amazing place! There are so many different options and areas to work out — a great gym, pool, indoor track, and plenty of space to stay active no matter what your fitness level is. What really makes this place special is that they also have awesome classes and activities for kids. From computer and Roblox classes to karate and many other programs, there’s truly something for everyone. It makes it easy to bring the whole family and keep everyone active and learning. This is definitely a family-friendly place that I highly recommend. It’s a great environment, well-maintained, and full of opportunities for both adults and kids!

This gym is decent option for families. Family friendly environment with a decent price but I will not recommend signing up for their TBAll program. It is the most unorganized chaos. The Staff does not care for the TBall program or are interested in assisting with practice. They provide little to no communication and just stand around and do little to no drills with the kids. They do not explain the rules of the league and have no interest in this program. If you are interested in TBall do not sign up here. The Langh creek location has appeared more organized if you do choose a YMCA location

If you are looking to do swim lessons a do your child, I suggest you look elsewhere. I had to tall to them multiple times about the lack of actually teaching for our son, who could pretty much swim But needed coaching on how to do a proper swimming stroke. The instructor pretty much had him doing bubbles, and he learned zero skills. I emailed, called, even had another instructor come to instruct the instructor we had been assigned. Even offered to switch times, and ultimately nothing changed. We wasted a month of time and money on lessons, only to have the director and manager offer ONE free lesson, no offers for refunds. I felt I was even being overbearing and thinking my son could do more than he actually could. No, I was not wrong. We switched to a new instructor somewhere else. He did more in 30 minutes than he did in a month of lessons, confirming that they do NOT k know to teach kids to actually swim.

I’ve been a member here for years, since before it flooded and was renovated. This gym is nice to look at but is increasingly worthless to use. We have been turned away twice trying to use the guest pass included with our membership. The first time, their system was down - no guests allowed. The second time, my 16 yo could not bring a friend without an adult. Fine. Perhaps they could’ve told her that the first time she tried to bring a friend and they denied entry - they just said their computers were down. No additional information that an adult needed to be there. They allow members to takeover machines that are not actively used. People sitting on their phones on machines. The pool is chaos during peak times, poorly managed to the point I’ve stopped swimming here. The staff is generally friendly but pretty useless at addressing problems that arise and the manager is never available. The only given option is to wait, sometimes days, until the manager is at the facility to work through the issue. In my experience, she was less than helpful and offered no solution whatsoever.

McWilliams YMCA continues to impress on every level. The staff are incredibly welcoming and kind, creating a warm and inclusive environment that makes every visit a pleasure. The weight training equipment is superior, offering a wide variety of machines and free weights that cater to all fitness levels. Whether you're just starting out or a seasoned athlete, you'll find everything you need for a great workout. The facilities, including the pools, are exceptionally well maintained — clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed to support a wide range of activities. What truly sets this YMCA apart is its children’s facilities. They are well staffed and full of fun, engaging activities that keep kids entertained and active in a safe environment. It’s a fantastic place for families. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a supportive community, excellent amenities, and a place where both adults and children can thrive.
