Underrated park in Arlington with direct access to a recreation center that sets it apart even more. The playgrounds at the front are solid — but nothing to call home about though. However, the paved walking trail that loops around the duck pond is very picturesque. The bridge is a nice feature too. The park gets its fair share of use too — tennis courts are available for locals and there are a few essentials around for Eagle Scouts, such as the following: (i) a wooden slap ball court, (i) a trust wall, and (iii) a small stage for skits. A coat of paint wouldn’t hurt on some of the rails and saw a few things of trash around that could probably be picked up. But that’s how it goes sometimes, and I trust whatever Boy Scout troop that frequents here to make light work of that. More importantly, this park is very safe. A few families and solo walkers were out during my trip, along with the Arlington Parks and Recreation department. Couple that with the fact that it’s adjacent to an indoor facility (in case you need to head inside), Cliff Nelson is one of the safer parks around Arlington. Because of that attribute alone, Cliff Nelson gets my 5-stars 🙌🏻
This is one of my favorite neighborhood parks to take my puppy in training. It's a very well kept up park with a playground and lots of natural beauty along the walking trail. There's a pond with some resident ducks as well as several mallards and a few drakes hanging out too. She likes ducks. Lol...
Nice spot in the South Arlington area. The gym and classrooma were being used. The bathroom was clean and there was some construction.
Nice, clean park with a recreational center. The outer trail is 1/3 of a mile and there are bags to pick up after your dog.
Solid park. Has a small area for kiddos 2-5, and a larger for 5-12. Good walking trail with a small pond. Great for the kiddos to stretch the legs.
