Campus Martius Park

The Rink at Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit was such a fun Christmas outing for our family. At first I almost overpaid for parking! I followed my GPS and pulled into the first open lot I saw, but it was $20 even though we were only planning to skate for about two hours. Then I noticed there was a big parking garage right in front of it. Super easy access, pay with a fast app, and after 4 p.m. it was only a $10 flat rate. I was there on a Friday night and there were plenty of spots. From the garage it’s just a short 2-minute walk to the park. Once you get there, you’re greeted by a huge Christmas tree and the ice rink right underneath it. It wasn’t too crowded, and the line to get on the ice moved quickly. Skate rentals were available on-site, and the skates themselves were in good shape and felt fairly sharp. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially with families and kids. Overall, it felt like a very safe, family-friendly event, perfect for kids, parents, and anyone looking to enjoy a festive winter evening in the city. I’m really happy we tried it while we were in Detroit and would definitely recommend it.

Just an amazing golden center of a city that has fully returned to glory. Is a beautiful area to relax anytime of the year but is especially beautiful at the holidays. Beautiful sparkling tree. Fountain still operates. Great ice rink. Beautiful Christmas lights.

What a wonderful area! It was beautifully decorated and the Christmas tree is gorgeous! The pop up shops were so fun to shop in and the lounge area with boozy hot chocolate and coffee drinks was set up so cute!

Awesome public area in the heart of downtown Detroit! Fountains, statues, an ice rink and Detroit's Christmas tree can all be found at Campus Martius Park, plus, many more special events and happenings! A great place to celebrate Detroit or too make holiday memories with friends and family! Swing thru and check out Campus Martius Park during your next visit to the Motor City!

One of my favorite places in downtown Detroit with great entertainment and restaurants! Whether it’s ice skating, shopping around Cadillac Square, and having a drink at Cadillac Lodge, or enjoying putting your feet in the sand and enjoying some bites during the summer months at the Brisa Bar, Campus Martius is a hopping spot all year round! I also remember a while back when they had the musical swings- would love the see those make a return!
