The staff, other than the male manager are rude and inconsiderate of paying members' needs. He is the sole reason i gave 2 stars instead of 1. The swim instructors are terrible and expect you to do their jobs for them. They often show up late for kids swim classes or not at all. The supposed branch manager is clueless and most employees are lazy and do the absolute minimum, expecting paying members to do their jobs for them. Do yourself a favor and find another YMCA. Unfortunately, I live in the Northeast and this pitiful excuse for a family centered YMCA is an absolute embarrassment. YMCA...please fire everybody but the male manager who was both helpful and friendly to my family and me. If you're looking for a manager who knows how to manage employees correctly gimme a call, i have over 21 years of experience leading, managing, and helping Soldiers and their families. My number is on file at the Will Ruth YMCA if you are looking for real talent to serve this community. Pitiful experiences and excuses are all I've had as of lately. Hold your employees accountable please. There is a reason they have a 3.8 rating out of 5 on the reviews in here.
Coach Ronda Williams violates the YMCA's "Equal playing time guarantee for every child" and this has been a vocal concern by three other parents. Our daughters are punished for missing practice, sitting down, running late, etc. Furthermore, she violates the YMCA's parents handbook where we should expect a coach wkth camues that focus on "Coaching values centered on fairness, respect, and dignity" my daughter and her grand daughter both play fury M and W but show up for games. Her family member plays the entire game while my daughter and others are made to sit the bench for roughly 80 min out of 90 min game time : We are very disappointed with our daughter’s experience under the current YMCA volleyball coach. From the beginning, the coach has consistently shown favoritism, provided uneven playing time, and created a discouraging environment. Despite our daughter’s full commitment—attending every practice and game, always on time—she was rarely given play time, even before she joined a club team. The coach encouraged her to try out for a local club, which she did successfully, and the coach even attended games where her own granddaughter played against our daughter’s team. Yet she later claimed our daughter never informed her, despite witnessing it firsthand. The coach has spoken to our daughter aggressively, once even yelling at her to “shut up,” which is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. She has also publicly embarrassed us as parents—when my husband calmly asked why our daughter wasn’t getting any playing time, the coach clapped her hands and accused him of yelling, despite his respectful demeanor. This type of behavior is unacceptable and inconsistent with the YMCA’s values of inclusion, fairness, and youth development. The coach often promotes additional practices around town but frequently doesn’t attend them herself, further demonstrating a lack of accountability. Unfortunately, her actions have discouraged our daughter and left us with serious concerns about the environment being fostered on this team. We urge the YMCA to look into this matter and take steps to ensure all athletes are treated with respect and fairness moving forward.
Great facility with an abundance of activities. Very well kept and always clean. We primarily use it for swim lessons, the pool and coaches are amazing!
You can only do laps in the pool at like 930 am or in the evening because they don't have dedicated lanes while there are aerobics classes which is basically every day.
Even though this facility needs updates on almost everything I still enjoy going there to my aqua classes. The staff and members are nice. I hope they never have to close this facility. There is really no other place to work out when you are a senior citizen. I love this gym.
