At this point we have come to Austin Pickle Ranch quite a few times and we can definitively say it is one of the best places to play pickleball in Austin. From reserving to check in to the courts themselves, everything feels thoughtful and seamless. You can reserve courts in advance or walk in to play although we HIGHLY recommend reserving a court as it can get very busy there. Courts can typically be reserved for $20 during off peak or $40 during peak hours. They also have both indoor and outdoor courts for you to choose from. Parking there is very easy since they’re right off a huge lot. When you check in there are also drinks and other things you can purchase. Again, the courts are very nice and many have seating areas for you to watch or take a break between sets. The courts also come with about 5 balls for you to use so don’t worry about not having any. We’ve seen a few signs that advertise special themes nights or events here but we haven’t been to any yet, but it does seem like membership here gets you a decent value back. This is just flat out a great place to play whether you’re new to things or a more seasoned veteran. Definitely stop by and check this place out!
I’ve been coming here consistently for a year now. Staff is so lovely. courts are perfect. Everything about the facilities is great. With growing popularity, it’s been difficult to try and find same day or even next day programs for open play . So keep that in mind you may have to book a few days in advance. Which kinda of sucks. They also now have two outdoor courts as well, which is nice . The environment community here really sweet, folks are easy to talk to and friendly
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Dinks Out of Five If you're looking for the perfect indoor pickleball gym in Austin, Austin Pickle Ranch is it. The courts are top-notch, the AC is blessedly cold, and the vibes? Unmatched. I play in Open Play Level 3, which is that magical mix of good competition and great laughs. I'm a 3.5+. SO whether you’re a strategic shot-maker or just here to run around with style (guilty), you’ll find your people. Using their app is easy to book open plays, coaching sessions or a court for some competitive play. Now let’s talk about the coaching squad. These folks are like the Avengers of Pickleball (or the ABC Coaches): Austin: Smooth, smart, and sneakily savage with the tips that will totally level up your game. Brandon: Brings the energy of a hype man and the knowledge of a pickleball wizard. 10/10 would take his advice again (and again). Camden: Moves like he’s part of the Matrix and teaches like your favorite PE coach—but cooler. Whether you're new to the game or plotting your dinking domination, this place has it all: amazing staff (hi Michelle, Matilda, Jeff, Eli, Erin! and more), great competition, and an always-welcoming community. Bonus points for not having to worry about the weather. Because nothing ruins a third-shot drop like the Texas humidty. Highly recommend. Just don’t take my court spot!
This is one of the best indoor pickleball places we have played at. The courts are very nice. Reservations are needed to play, and they book out about 5 day ahead. Nice seating and areas to sit and watch. (Perhaps a bit short on the back and sidelines) Overall, it's a very nice play to play!
Have been a member since September 2024 . APR has been synonymous with the explosion of pickleball in Austin . They were one of the first indoor facilities in Austin and now we have lot of options in town . Despite all the competition, APR is almost always full (even on a Wednesday , midday ) , when the competitors are struggling to find 4 players to play in their weekend open plays . They work for the following reasons 1) Friendliest front desk 2) Sound proofing . Pickleball can be loud . The sound proofing done here makes things so much better . You can hear other people unlike other places 3) Consistent open play hours and availability of court . Any hour of the day they have open play level 1-3.25 . 4) Hangout areas. After each match there are couches to hangout and socialize . The communal spaces are awesome . 5) The court surfaces . The surface is softer than the other places. This makes it easy on your body and if you are a maniac who wants to play 6 hrs straight , this is the place I love the ranch but there are a few cons 1) Lighting . The lighting is not the best in the town . If you are not used to the lighting , you might loose the ball in the light 2) Low ceiling . The ceiling is not that high . So if you are used to lobbing outside , you are in for a surprise Warning . It takes a few minutes to get used to the lighting , the softer bounce and low ceiling . But I swear you get used to it real fast.
